CSH Associates Teams With Dale McMurchy Consulting

February 26, 2007: Corinne S. Hodgson and Associates have joined with Dale McMurchy Consulting to provide consulting services for the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care. Following the September 2000 First Minister’s Meeting, the Government of Canada established the Primary Health Care Transition Fund (PHCTF), an $800 million four-year investment to support Canadian jurisdictions with the transitional costs associated with introducing new approaches to primary care. Under the contribution agreement, Ontario’s share was $213 million, which was invested in nine initiatives. In total, 101 projects were funded under the operational grant program.

The MOHLTC contracted with McMurchy to summarize the projects in the form of one-page abstracts and a searchable database and to develop synthesis reports. The reports will identify common findings and outline themes, lessons and evidence relevant to the issue of primary care renewal in five thematic areas.

Hodgson was brought into the project for her epidemiologic expertise, knowledge of research methods and familiarity with a number of key clinical areas. She is responsible for two of the five synthesis reports: one addressing chronic disease prevention and management and the other mental health and addictions.
